Lee M. Nadler, MD '73
Virginia and D.K. Ludwig Professor of Medicine
Dean for Clinical and Translational Research, Harvard Medical School
Dr. Nadler has spent the past 30 years at HMS as a clinical and
translational investigator, physician, and leader. He is Senior Vice
President of Experimental Medicine at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
(DFCI) and Director of the DFCI Center for Clinical and Translational
Research. In November 2007, Dr. Nadler assumed the position of HMS Dean
for Clinical and Translational Research. He is a pioneer in research
and treatment for leukemia and lymphoma and a national leader in the
fields of monoclonal antibody diagnosis and therapy.
Dr. Nadler is also the Director of Harvard Catalyst,
an interdisciplinary, pan-Harvard University health research
organization that brings faculty, post-doctoral fellows, clinical
trainees, and graduate students from across the University together to
attack human illness.
Larry A. Turka, MD
Co-director of the Transplant Institute and Division of Transplant Immunology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
Dr. Turka recently joined the Harvard Medical Community as
Co-Director of the Transplant Institute and Division of Transplant
Immunology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and visiting
Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Prior to these
appointments, Dr. Turka was C. Mahlon Kline Professor of Medicine,
Professor of Pediatrics and Pathology, and Chief of the
Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension Division at the University of
Pennsylvania. Dr. Turka received his MD degree from the Yale University
School of Medicine, and trained in Internal Medicine at Yale-New Haven
Hospital. He is one of the country’s leading nephrologists and
immunologists.
